Since 2000, YAX has centered the exchange between artists and learners to build community, arts skills, and lifelong interest in the arts. Focused primarily on sustained programming for public high school students, we also reach the general public through workshops, exhibits, events, and interactive installations. Our core programming iis free for participants to reduce barriers to the arts and arts learning- and we are committed to increasing access to the arts for all in San Francisco. We prioritize engagement of artists of color and communities of color. Artistic disciplines taught by practicing artists include architecture, film photography, fashion design, illustration, industrial design, music production, and printmaking.
