Important information

High 5 offers the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Blended Learning Class. The purpose of this class is to teach you the skills necessary to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies.  The comprehensive and nationally recognized program also provides training on what it means to be a professional lifeguard and understand the traits necessary to be an effective lifeguard and leader.

You must be 15 years of age by the end of the course, attend every class, and pass the final exam to be certified. There will be no make up classes.  You must be prompt in attending all classes.

The pre-requisite swim test will be held at High 5 on the first day of the course. You are required to swim 300 yards, freestyle (crawl stroke) and breast stroke, 2 minute treading water (legs only) and 1 minute and 40 second timed swim with weighted object retrieval from 7 - 9 feet of water. The class will not be held unless we have 3 registered students.

The cost of the course is $199, which includes a whistle and a resuscitation mask that is required for the CPR portion of the course.

There are NO REFUNDS for the course fee, and payment must be made prior to taking the pre-requisite swim test. If you do not pass you will be required to repeat the course and pay the full fee again.

Please Note: If you are unable to pass the prerequisite test, High 5 will offer a Lifeguard pre-requisite class for an extra cost.
