Description:

Learn to Row is the first step in the learning path for anyone starting rowing.  You'll attend six two-hour classes, where qualified coaches will help you acquire the fundamental skills needed to become a competent rower.  You will become acquainted with the basics of rowing movement, safety, terminology, and commands through on-land and on-water instruction. Depending on class size, you will have the chance to row in different boat sizes and configurations.

If you purchase an ERC membership in the same year that you complete your learn-to-row course, you will receive a $280 discount on your membership. You can receive an extra discount if you also complete our Learn to Train lessons before purchasing your membership.

Required age: 18 - 99 years old on the day of the activity

Notes: You must be a Rowing Canada Aviron and an Alberta Rowing Association member to participate in a rowing activity. Create your account at https://membership.rowingcanada.org and we will ennrol you in the appropriate program. You do not need to pay on the Rowing Canada site as we add the fee to your ERC purchase.

Prerequisites: Participants should be comfortable on the water and be able to swim. The ERC provides personal flotation devices for use during lessons.
