The Leaside Baseball Summer Camp helps kids learn, practice, and improve their baseball skills and enthusiasm for the sport in a friendly, safe, and encouraging environment. Our energetic coaches cover the fundamentals of baseball — throwing, fielding, and hitting — through a combination of drills, competitions, and games that emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.
COVID - 19 Health and Safety Measures
As we prepare for our 2021 summer camp session, we are proceeding on the basis the Leaside Baseball Camp will need to operate in accordance with, and subject to, provincial and municipal COVID-19 requirements and guidelines similar to that of our 2020 session. As such, we will continue to follow policies and recommendations built off of the “COVID-19 Guidance: Summer Day Camps” document from the Provincial Ministry of Health prepared in 2020 and will revise this as 2021 information is released.
We ask that all parents read the Leaside Baseball Camp Summer Camp COVID-19 Policies and Guidelines. The key points are:
Parents will be required to complete a daily health assessment form on behalf of their camper(s) and monitor their temperature being taken before admittance into the camp facilities.
Campers will be in groups of 8 and assigned 2 staff for the duration of the week with dedicated equipment. Group programming and activities, as well as their breaks, will be staggered to meet physical distancing requirements.
Physical distancing will be enforced across the entire camp as well as within each group. Where it can’t be maintained, campers and staff will be instructed to wear their masks.
Parents/ guardians are required to wear a mask when dropping off and picking up their campers.
Campers are required to wear a mask when being dropped off and when gathering in their groups. If during camp programming physical distancing measures are not possible, they will be directed to wear it then as well.
A strict “no sharing” rule will apply to water bottles, food, clothing, equipment, and rides to and from camp
Personal hygiene breaks to wash and sanitize hands will occur at least five (5) times during the day.
Camp will be canceled due to inclement weather, as we do not have access to indoor facilities. Families will be notified by email.
Parents need to be prepared to collect their camper(s) within 1 hour of being contacted due to illness or weather-related cancellation.
We will not be offering a lunch or after-care program this year.
