Ottawa Rowing Club is predominantly a volunteer organization that relies on its membership  base for volunteers. The Community Involvment Policy is meant to encourage volunteering within the Club Community to maintain an affordable membership fee and reduce the need to hire externally at a cost to members. 

Competitive members (Masters, U23 and Senior, Junior and University) will be required to pay a refundable deposit during registration. Recreational and Instructional Programs are exempt from these requirements, but are encouraged to lend a hand when needed. 

After completion of required 5 hr volunteer hours, competitive members can request reimbursement of the deposit.
