Description :
Forest Therapy or forest bathing, as you may have heard it called, is a practice wherein we surround ourselves with the forest to build connections with the more than human world and remember ourselves. Forest therapy is inspired by the Japanese method of Shinrin Yoku which translates to forest bath. This practice was popularized in Japan as an effort to counteract disconnection that resulted from the rise of large cities and increased use of technology. On a forest therapy walk your guide will prompt you with a series of invitations to foster connection. This practice is a sensory, "bodyful" experience to help you slow down and get out of your head. This relational approach reminds people that we too are nature. Interacting with nature during a forest therapy walk supports our mental health, helps to release stress and encourages the mind/body connection.
