Description:
A 5-week prenatal education series Whether it’s your first baby or your third, this four-week class is designed to help you feel informed, supported, and confident as you prepare for birth and early postpartum life. Led by Certified Childbirth Educatior, Lactation Educator, Full Spectrum Doula, Pelvic Floor and Core Specialist, and Yoga Instructor, Sonja Martin. Together in Birth covers what’s happening in your body during pregnancy, what to expect during labor, how to prepare for your birth location, how to care for yourself and your newborn after birth, and unexpected changes and challenges. Each session includes real talk, practical tools, and a chance to connect with other families preparing for birth too. Week 1: Pregnancy changes, nutrition, stress, early labor signs, and how to pack your hospital bag Week 2: Stages of labor, birth plans, informed consent, the fear-tension-pain cycle, and when to head to the hospital Week 3: Comfort measures, pain coping strategies, interventions, and cesarean birth Week 4: Newborn care basics, breastfeeding, babywearing, postpartum recovery, and building your support system NEW! Week 5: Auto-registration in our Sleep Support Workshop covering how babies actually sleep, why night waking is normal, and how biology, development, and temperament all play a role—so you can let go of unrealistic expectations and tune into what’s truly supportive for your family. All information is up-to-date with current-research and practice. This class is inclusive, partner-friendly, and intentionally structured to help expecting families feel rooted, reassured, and ready.
