Description:
In this seminar, we will cover the basics of graphic design, which is how to combine words and images into something with an impact on your audience. We will discuss best practices and strategies to use in graphic design. We will use one of the most popular graphic design platforms in use today: Canva. Canva is used by many communications professionals in our jobs and is used in many other applications such as personal projects, branding, social media, and art. Canva has now integrated aspects of AI into its program, and we will discuss how to use the AI features in Canva. You will walk away from this class with a completed project of your choice which could be a mood board, logo, branding guide, design for apparel or products, or many other options. This class is open for beginners and students 12+. About the Instructor: Shady Kimzey - Founder & Facilitator of Bad Art Company - is an independent artist and creative entrepreneur from Raleigh with over 10 years of experience in teaching and facilitation. They work with non-profits, government agencies, and businesses such as The Carrboro ArtsCenter, Orange County Arts Commission, Artspace, and the City of Raleigh. Shady Kimzey's classes focus on beginners exploring new skills and ideas. The goal is for participants to express themselves and explore their process of making art.
