Description:

In Tarot Art & History we will:
•    Create our own tarot or oracle cards
•    Discuss the history of Tarot art
•    Practice reading Tarot cards in small groups

In hour 1 we will focus on the history of tarot, oracle, and playing cards, with an emphasis on the art and artists of the cards. In hour 2 we will practice interpreting Tarot cards in small groups and learn more about Tarot art specifically. In hour 3 we will create our own Tarot card inspired art. No experience in art or Tarot needed. Open to ages 9+.

About the Instructor: Shady Kimzey, Founder & Facilitator of Bad Art Company, is an independent artist and creative entrepreneur from Raleigh with over 10 years of experience in teaching and facilitation. They work with non-profits, government agencies, and businesses such as The Carrboro ArtsCenter, Raleigh's Artspace, and the City of Raleigh. Shady Kimzey's classes focus on beginners exploring new skills and ideas. The goal is for participants to express themselves and explore their process of making art.
