If you are captivated by the spontaneous, translucent and vibrant qualities of watercolor then this class is for you. Here students will learn the basics of watercolor painting. We will start small, with 5”x 7” sheets of watercolor paper and proceed one step at a time. We will learn and have the opportunity to practice a new technique each week. This class provides a comfortable environment for making mistakes and trying again until the lesson is learned. As we progress through the weeks, we will cover all of the basic watercolor techniques that you need to know in order to begin exploring this amazing medium. 

About the Instructor: North Carolina native, Nancy Ann Moore captures the joy of life through her diverse artistic talents. Nancy pursued her love for art by earning an associates degree from the Art Institute of America in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She is an active member of the Chatham Artists Guild, the Watercolor Society of North Carolina and the Durham Art Guild. Her artistic endeavors include commissioned portraits, illustrations, sculptures and personal projects. Nancy is also dedicated to sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm by teaching classes in drawing and painting. She lives with her family in picturesque Chatham County, where the beauty of her surroundings continues to inspire her work daily.

Notes: Supplies: Watercolor paint set (I recommend Winsor & Newton Cotman, Watercolor Sketchers' Pocket Set), watercolor brush set, watercolor Painting Palette, 5”x 7” watercolor paper, 1” artist tape, 2 cups for water, paper towels.
